If you would like to work as a Physiotherapist in Austria and have finished your training as a Physiotherapist and are eligible to live and practice in a country of the European Union you need to contact the Bundesministerium für Gesundheit (BMG) / Federal Ministry for Health.

The Ministry will provide the information you need concerning the recognition as a Physiotherapist in Austria (which papers you need and how long the proceedings will approximately take).
Requirements for the Application Enclosures:
- Personal application
- Proof of residence or address in Austria
- Curriculum Vitae
- Evidence of Qualification (recognised physiotherapy diploma, state recognition of profession)
- Recommendation of work experience
- Certificates regarding continuous professional development (CPD), esp. Lymphatic drainage
- Evidence of nationality
- Evidence of conviction record (not older than 3 months
- Certificate of vocation eligibility (health), not older than 3 months
- Proof of knowledge of German language (certificates,...)
- Certificate of change of name (if applicable, e.g. marriage)

Migrants from outside the EU/EEA/Switzerland
If you would like to work as a Physiotherapist in Austria and have finished your training as a Physiotherapist in a country which is not part of the European Union and if you are not eligible to live and practice in a country of the European Union you need to contact the Fachochschulrat (FH Council).
